THE WEBSITE OF BRITISH OWL SPECIALIST & SPEAKER IAN McGUIRE

My visits to Primary schools have been in great demand over the years and I am very pleased to announce that I have recently re launched my owl workshops for schools and am now taking bookings.

This is not a bird display but carefully targeted education. My presentations are specially structured to teach children about how special British owls are, how they hunt, the things they eat, the special features they have to help them catch prey, what the pellets look like, where they live and many other fascinating facts.

I offer a choice of bookings to suit different budgets from a one-hour stand-up routine with just me, an owl and a few props for an assembly or class group* to a full morning visit with interactive multimedia presentations featuring exclusive Wild Owl photographs and videos - these are highly recommended and really give children the full experience.

In addition to owl visits, I am also developing new British wildlife presentations that give children a basic understanding of how to attract and conserve wildlife in their own or the schools wildlife garden including bees, amphibians, birds, small mammals and butterflies - contact me for details.

* short sessions only available in South Gloucestershire

Ian McGuire is an experienced childrens speaker and has given hundreds of talks to Primary-age children over the past 10 years - his talks are tailored to teach children the connection between animals and birds and their environment.

As an enjoyable end to classroom sessions, if time allows, the owl can be placed on a branch and the children can draw the bird

School Assembly Owl Show

This is my classic ‘Childrens Owl Talk’ presentation about wild British owls that is delivered on to the big screen using the schools equipment and adapted for the whole school or year group at assembly.

The presentation engages the children throughout the 40 - 45 minute session which is then followed by an appearance by a live British owl and then finishing with a question and answer session. This tried & tested formula is guaranteed to keep the children engaged throughout the session and is a very popular booking.
